Drive shaft problem diagnosis
Because the universal transmission driveshaft is often affected by the driving of the car on a complex road, the transmission shaft transmits torque under the condition that its angle and length are constantly changing. Therefore, the transmission shaft dynamic imbalance, the universal joint and the intermediate support are often loose. A fault such as a sound.
1) Analysis of common faults of the drive shaft
Fault 1. There is a crash when the car starts, and there is always an abnormal noise during driving.
Phenomenon When the car starts, there is a crash sound; when driving heavy, when the speed changes or the high speed is running at low speed, there is also a crash sound, and the sound is almost continuous during the whole driving process.
the reason
There is looseness at the junction of one of the drive shafts.
The universal joint journals and bearings wear loosely.
The intermediate center bearing bracket fixing bolt is loose.
The inner bearing inner ring is loose or the rubber is damaged.
Fault 2: There is no abnormal noise at the start, but there is abnormal noise during driving.
Phenomenon Although there is no abnormal sound when the car starts, the abnormal noise appears when accelerating, and the sound is obvious when the off-slide is slid.
the reason
The sliding fork/slip yoke is misaligned, causing the universal joint forks/driveshaft yokes at both ends of the drive shaft to be no longer in the same plane.
The intermediate center bearing wears loose, poorly lubricated or slightly damaged.
The bracket is skewed, the beam rivet is loose, and the damping rubber block is invalid.
The universal joint is too tightly assembled and the rotation is not flexible.
Fault 3: A periodic sound is emitted during driving, and the higher the speed, the louder the sound.
Phenomenon When the universal joint and the sliding fork-slip yokes are in good condition, the car emits a periodic sound during driving. The higher the speed, the louder the sound, and even with the vibration of the body, the hand holding the steering wheel feels numb.
the reason
The balance block on the drive shaft comes off.
The drive shaft is bent or the drive shaft tube is recessed.
The drive shaft tube and the universal joint fork are not welded correctly or the drive shaft is not subjected to dynamic balance test and calibration.
The sliding forks-slip yokes is installed misaligned, so that the universal joint forks at both ends of the transmission shaft are not in the same plane, and the equiangular speed transmission condition is not satisfied.
The fixing bolt of the intermediate support hanger is loose or the joint bolt of the universal joint flange is loosened to deflect the drive shaft.
Fault 4: When the operating conditions are different, the drive shaft emits a "beep" or "jingle, jingle" sound.
Phenomenon When the car starts and suddenly changes the speed of the car, the transmission emits a "beep" sound; when the car slows down, it makes a "jingle, jingle" sound.
the reason
The flange fork-flange yoke connection bolt is loose.
The main and slave parts of the universal joint have increased swimming angles.
The universal joint cross shaft is severely worn.
The gimbal flange-universal flange yoke connection bolt is loose.
The universal joint bearing wears loosely.
The sliding fork- driveshaft slip yoke wears loose.
Fault 5: A continuous “beep” sound occurs during operation.
Phenomenon A continuous “beep” sound occurs in the car. The higher the speed, the louder the sound.
the reason
Rolling bearings lack oil ablation or wear.
Improper installation of the intermediate support results in additional wear due to additional loads.
The rubber ring is damaged.
The deformation of the frame causes the projection of the axis of the front and rear connecting portions to be different in the horizontal plane to cause abnormal wear.
Troubleshooting and troubleshooting
Fill the intermediate support bearing with grease.
Loosen all the screws that tighten the rubber ring, and then tighten the drive shaft after several turns.
Fault 6: There is abnormal noise during driving and the body is shaking.
Phenomenon Abnormal noise occurs when the speed exceeds the medium speed. The higher the speed, the louder the sound, and the body vibrates when a certain speed is reached. At this time, if the off-line is immediately disengaged, the vibration is more intense. When it is lowered to the medium speed, the vibration is slightly lowered, but the abnormal sound of the transmission shaft still exists.
the reason
The drive shaft is bent or the balance piece is detached.
The intermediate center support bearing bracket and the rubber backing ring are worn and loose.
The spline of the drive shaft universal joint sliding fork-spline of slip yoke is matched with loose.
The fixing bolts of the front and rear brackets of the engine are loose.
The engine components are unbalanced.
